Horizon Networks Advisory – Cyclone Impact - Recovery

Horizon Networks wishes to advise that all customers who reported faults should have their electricity supply restored, with exception of the 13 customers in Toatoa.

As per our previous release at 13h30 today, we have been unsuccessful in re-livening the supply to faults remaining on the line which we are unable to identify and get to given the terrain. The current weather system and limited visibility do not allow Horizon Networks to commence aerial surveys, and the surveys will be scheduled once the condition improves sufficiently.

We are expecting the incoming weather system could cause further outages. We encourage customers to be prepared in the event that electricity supply is lost. We have additional teams from outside of the region based here in Whakatāne to support any restoration efforts that may be required.

Customers who remain without electricity are encouraged to contact their electricity retailer to report outages at their property.

We understand the disruption this is causing and thank customers for their patience while crews continue this recovery effort.

All downed or damaged power lines must be treated as live. Immediate hazards can be reported to 0800 HORIZON — 0800 467 496.

Medically dependent customers are urged to activate their emergency plans if they experience a loss of electricity supply.

Horizon Networks apologises for any inconvenience that the current outages and potential delays in restoration may have or will cause to our consumers.
